広島県府中町出身。9歳よりマリンバを始める。
15歳まで、広島ジュニアマリンバアンサンブルのメンバーとして、日本国内で年間約90回のコンサートを行う。台湾、中国、モンゴルでも演奏。
2019年−
2月渡仏。ストラスブール音楽院スペシャリぜーションコースに入学し、
エマニュエル・セジョルネ氏（Emmanuel Séjourné）に師事する。フランスではマリンバをはじめ、ビブラフォンや民族打楽器など幅広く打楽器を学ぶ。
9月、第1回スイス打楽器コンクール(SwissPercussion Competition)
“デュオ ・トリオ部門” 優勝。
二人とも公益財団法人ヒロシマ平和創造基金より、奨学金受賞者に選ばれる。
現在、小中学生を対象とした教育プロジェクトの推進・開催など、事業の幅を広げている。
Marimba Twins
Born in Fuchu Town, Hiroshima Prefecture.
Started playing Marimba at the age of nine.
In February 2019, the two of them went to France to study music with Emmanuel Séjourné, a master of percussion instruments. In France, they learned a wide range of percussion instruments, including marimba, vibraphone, and oriental percussion instruments.
In September 2019, they won the 1st Swiss Percussion Competition in the "Duo/Trio category".
Both of them were selected as scholarship recipients by the Hiroshima Peace Creation Fund (2019).

石田真知
広島を拠点に活動するマリンバ・打楽器奏者、指導者。2023年、オランダの楽器メーカーAdams、ドイツの打楽器メーカーKolberg Percussion（マレット）と専属アーティストとしての契約を結び、またデンマークの音楽出版社、Edition Svitzer および Svitzer Music のレコーディング アーティストとして、演奏家としての新しい章をスタートさせた。
学生時代はマリンバに没頭し、多くの国際コンクールで成果を出す。シュトゥットガルト世界マリンバコンクール（2022年）で第1位、聴衆賞、最優秀演奏賞を受賞し、日本人初優勝、及び一度に3賞を受賞した初めての人物となる。ベルギーユニバーサルマリンバコンクール（2021年）では第4位と最優秀演奏賞、台湾国際打楽器コンベンションコンクール（TIPCC）（2017年）では第2位、そして12歳で大阪国際音楽コンクール一般デュオ部門エスポワール賞受賞。（2005年）
これまで、アメリカ、オーストリア、中国、デンマーク、フランス、ドイツ、日本（広島、島根、岡山、東京、鹿児島）、モンゴル、台湾で演奏をしてきた。特に、デンマーク王立音楽アカデミー（RDAM）ではマスタークラス、 Tanel Eiko Novikov とのマリンバデュオリサイタル『バラード』を開催。また、Edition Svitzer の新曲ミュージックビデオのプロジェクトに参加し、Adam Tan の『LEVEL100』と Heng Liu の『When I Think Of You』をレコーディングする。アメリカのメンフィス大学、アーカンソー州立大学、ミドルテネシー州立大学、ノースアラバマ大学では Adam Tan とのマスタークラスとリサイタルを開催。マリンバを始めた当初（9歳）、広島ジュニアマリンバアンサンブルのメンバーとして5年間、400回以上のコンサートを行った
指導者として、広島を拠点とし、個人レッスン、小・中学校、高校の先生方へ向けた、打楽器講習会、吹奏楽等の打楽器奏者への指導を行う。
双子の妹、石田真歩とのデュオ、Marimba Twinsとしてのプロジェクトも拡大している。2012年のデビュー以来、6回のデュオ・リサイタルと演奏活動を行う。2019年にはスイス打楽器コンクールのデュオ/トリオ部門で第1位を受賞。2023年広島県呉市で開催したリサイタルでは、約600名の観客が集まる。現在は、小・中学校、高校の音楽鑑賞会にも精力的に取り組む。
広島大学で音楽文化教育を学び、エリザベト音楽大学で打楽器の修士号を取得。その後、ストラスブール音楽院（フランス）で専門学位を取得し、首席で卒業。留学中、鍵盤打楽器に加え、ダラブッカやトンバクなどの民族打楽器を学び、自身の音楽表現の幅を広げる。エマニュエル・セジュルネ、小川裕雅、神谷百子、佐藤須美子、トマ・ヴァンデベンヌ各氏に師事。公益財団法人ヒロシマ平和創造基金より奨学生に選ばれ支援を受ける。
Machi Ishida
Machi Ishida (she/her) is a Japanese marimbist and percussionist based in Hiroshima, Japan.
Machi has experienced marimba since the age of 9, receiving 1st Prize, Audience Award and the Best Performance Award at the Stuttgart World Marimba Competition (2022), making her the first person to win three awards at one time. Machi has also received prizes in other world-class competitions, including 4th Prize and Best Performance Award at the Belgium Universal Marimba Competition (2021), 2nd Prize at the Taiwan International Percussion Convention Competition (TIPCC) (2017), and the Espoir Award in the general duo category of the Osaka International Music Competition at the age of 12 (2005).
Machi regularly performs around the world, having performed in Austria, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Japan, Mongolia, Taiwan and the United States. Highlights including a masterclass at the Royal Danish Academy of Music (RDAM), a concert, ‘Ballade’ with Tanel-Eiko Novikov at the RDAM Percussion Hall, featuring as soloist in Edition Svitzer’s music videos for Adam Tan’s ‘LEVEL100’ and Heng Liu’s ‘When I Think Of You’, and masterclasses and recitals with Adam Tan at the University of Memphis, Arkansas State University, Middle Tennessee State University and University of North Alabama. Machi also performed 100 concerts per year in Japan as a member of the Hiroshima Junior Marimba Ensemble for five years.
Machi is also a member of Marimba Twins, a percussion duo with her twin sister Maho Ishida. Marimba Twins has given numerous performances and six duo recitals since their debut in 2012, receiving 1st Prize in the Duo/Trio Category of the Swiss Percussion Competition (2019). Marimba Twins has expanded to provide educational projects for thousands of elementary and middle school students across Japan.
Machi has a Bachelor of Music Culture Education from Hiroshima University, a master in percussion from Elisabeth University of Music (Japan), after which she studied at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg (France) for a specialist degree, graduating with the highest honours. Machi studied with Emmanuel Séjourné, Hironori Ogawa, Momoko Kamiya, Sumiko Sato and Thomas Vandevenne. Machi is also a scholarship recipient of the Hiroshima Peace Creation Fund, and continues to explore her other passions of percussion such as darabuka, tombak, riq, and daf.
Machi is a Kolberg Mallets Artist (Germany) and is a recording artist for Edition Svitzer and Svitzer Music (Denmark).
